Tony's Greek Island, Friday afternoon [NFB for distance]

Tony had flown Steve, Patriot and himself to their Greek island as an apology for forgetting to emerge from the lab for the first part of the break between classes. (The Greek island had been a gift for something else. Steve tried not to think about it too hard. Sometimes he had to let Tony be Tony.)

The weather was hard to complain about: 80 with bright sun and a light breeze, perfect for laying out next to the pool wearing nothing but a smile (after going for a long, clothed, hike and having a big lunch because Steve had to be Steve, too). Sunscreen had been applied because even the super serum couldn't completely counter the Irishness, and Steve had a book about World War II that was getting enough wrong to keep him entertained.

Mmm, vacation. He tilted his head towards the door Tony had disappeared through a few minutes earlier. "How are the margaritas doing?" he called out.

"I do enjoy getting sun from time to time."

"I like being warm," Steve agreed. "The winter was cold this year."

"We'll spend more time here this year," Tony promised, leaning over to look at him .

Steve blushed. "I'm not sure not having tan lines is entirely worth this."

"I think it is," Tony said, lowering the glasses to appreciate the view.

"I'm not tattooing your name on it," Steve said teasingly.

"Cruel man," Tony sighed as something dinged on his sunglasses. Which were, of course, also a HUD.

"What's dinging?" Steve asked.

[imafuturist]

"Sunglasses." Not a normal thing, Anthony. "Incoming aircraft. Rapidly incoming."

It was, in fact, now visible in the sky as it was swooping in.

"Energy signature identified. Advanced Ideas Mechanics."

"That's not good," Steve said, launching himself off of the lounger and instantly regretting the nakedness.

"This is why I should be allowed to bring the armor on vacation," Tony said as men in yellow beekeeper looking uniforms opened fire on them.

"This is why I shouldn't let you convince me to sunbathe naked!" Steve said, kicking over a outdoor table to serve as a shield.

"Fair," Tony sighed. "Keep them off my back?" Tony said, hiding behind his surprisingly durable pool chair. Or not so surprisingly considering their lives.

Steve grinned at him. "Always."

Tony blew him a kiss and scrambled over to cover with the pool pump and chemicals for maintaining the water. Don't worry about what he was doing, Steve. It was fine.

Steve was not at all worried! He was just drafty.

He took a moment to snap the legs off of the table and throw them like javelins at the beekeeper suits, buying himself time to put on a towel.

The chair legs sank into the sides of the hovering ship, knocking one or two of the AIM agents into the water with a very cinematic Wilhelm scream for good measure.

"I get to add defenses to this place, right?" Tony called.

"You get to add defenses," Steve agreed as Patriot jumped out of his own pool to bark ferociously (for a corgi) at the interlopers.

Which meant the confused agents paused before taking aim at a poor, innocent dog. Who did not deserve any of this.

Really, they deserved the table that flattened them for even attempting that.

And then the lounge chairs.

"How you doing there, sweetheart?" Tony asked, ducking under panicked gunfire as Steve did some work.

Almost there. It wasn't perfect, but it'd do the job.

"Running out of projectiles," Steve said, pulling the giant patio umbrella out of its stand. "You?"

"Got something for you to throw," Tony said, offering up a mishmash of pool parts. "Quickly. It's a bit... volatile."

He used what he had!

"There will be follow-up questions," Steve warned, throwing the...he was assuming bomb...into the air.

[imafuturist]

Look, you married a man who made weapons for a very long time before becoming Iron Man. These things just happened. The bomb rocked the aircraft to the side, a very large chunk of it missing and the rest burning as it started to crash into the ocean.

"Oh, it worked better than expected."
