Tony's Greek Island, Friday afternoon [NFB for distance]

Tony had flown Steve, Patriot and himself to their Greek island as an apology for forgetting to emerge from the lab for the first part of the break between classes. (The Greek island had been a gift for something else. Steve tried not to think about it too hard. Sometimes he had to let Tony be Tony.)

The weather was hard to complain about: 80 with bright sun and a light breeze, perfect for laying out next to the pool wearing nothing but a smile (after going for a long, clothed, hike and having a big lunch because Steve had to be Steve, too). Sunscreen had been applied because even the super serum couldn't completely counter the Irishness, and Steve had a book about World War II that was getting enough wrong to keep him entertained.

Mmm, vacation. He tilted his head towards the door Tony had disappeared through a few minutes earlier. "How are the margaritas doing?" he called out.

"It'd make getting here easier," Tony said like it'd definitely been a talking point before.

"Maybe a little," Steve said, capitulating slightly.

"Reinforced walls and maybe some defensive turrets?" Just what a vacation home needed!

"Turrets?" Steve repeated.

[imafuturist]

"Defensive turrets!" That helped, right?

[heroic_jawline]

"I don't think we need defensive turrets," Steve decided.

Tony gestured out to where AIM agents were trying to haul themselves out of the water and onto the rock shore as their ship slowly sank.

"I think a rock could work too," Steve said, glancing down appraisingly.

"I'm not building a trebuchet, Steve."

[heroic_jawline]

"Your tactical turret could be a trebuchet."

Steven.

"You're testing me." Was it because he made an improvised explosive device? Was that it?

[heroic_jawline]

"You like being tested," Steve said with a grin.

[imafuturist]

"Not with trebuchets!" But also he did.

[heroic_jawline]

"You can sit at the top of the mountain and tell them they smell like elderberries," Steve said.

"Oh, I strongly regret letting you see that movie," Tony said as a SHIELD craft approached.

Steve grinned at him and patted his hands on his head, exactly like the taunter had.

Tony smacked Steve on the arm for that. "Go grab the dog. I'll deal with SHIELD."

"Yes, sir," Steve said, trotting over to scoop up the puppy before the SHIELD Agents got into range for aggressive friend-making.

Adding defensive turrets would have saved Tony from having to deal with the bureaucracy that came along with SHIELD. And he really felt that was a large reason in favor of it.

Which took much too long before he could rejoin Steve.

Patriot was a panting, wriggling mess who was shedding madly all over Steve's shirt. "We can go now?" Steve asked.

"Yes," Tony said with emphasis. "I'm getting to work on security systems ASAP. This will be my weekends."

Because he could hire people for the construction, but only trusted himself for the actual security.

Steve kissed his cheek quickly. "I want to help too."

"You sure? You don't have to."

[heroic_jawline]

"It's my home too," Steve said.

[imafuturist]

Tony smiled and tugged him into a kiss that was only a little messed up by the dog squirming to get some licks in. "Well, we'll invest in enough sun screen for it."
