Steve had reached out to Natasha (through several layers of encryption and burner phones because Natasha, at least, understood how to lay low) and was now in his very best incognito outfit (beard, jeans, baseball cap, sunglasses) with Tony (in generally the same outfit), trying to appear casual as they walked around one of those giant outdoor outlet malls waiting for Natasha to make contact.

"She said she'd drop a pin with where she is in--" Steve glanced at his watch, "--eight and a half minutes. You've got the test with you?"

He'd asked that about four times already, but he was anxious.

"So, the place in Manhattan, right?" Oh, now he was gently winding Steve up.

Steve snorted. "No."

"The place in the Bronx?"

"You're winding me up," Steve said with a fond smile.

"I wouldn't do that," Tony said with a grin.

"Of course not," Steve said, poking him in the side.

Tony laughed and tugged him closer. "It's just a question about where you want it from!"

"Let's just get it from Raiden's and go home."

And hide. A little.

"Deal," Tony said, tugging Steve along like he was the one keeping them.

"I'm sorry for holding us up," Steve said dryly.

"Slowpoke," Tony said, making it sound fully unnatural coming out of his mouth.

Steve burst out laughing. "Yeah, that's me. The only slow-walking New Yorker in all of human history."

"I knew it," Tony said, grinning at how he got Steve to laugh.

Steve smiled back. "Call in the order, and we can race it home."

"I'll get J on it," Tony promised, kissing him on the cheek.

"Thank you," Steve murmured, putting his hand on Tony's cheek in reply.

"Love you," Tony said softly.

"I love you too," Steve said, pulling him towards the mini-tower.

Tony hummed, leaning into him as they walked. Because the silence of just being together was fine by him.

Steve enjoyed the easy silence, too. With the new revelations, it was even harder to know who to trust any more, and he was clinging to Tony a little too hard.

And they'd get things figured out. They would. They really would.

Tony pulled him into the entrance of the mini-tower with a little smile as he glanced back at him.

"Did we beat the pizza?" Steve asked with a smile.

"Maybe it's a busy night for them," Tony suggested.

"That makes sense," Steve said, leaning in to steal a quick kiss.

"Either way, it gives you time to get into something comfortable while I wait for them here," Tony replied.
