Steve had reached out to Natasha (through several layers of encryption and burner phones because Natasha, at least, understood how to lay low) and was now in his very best incognito outfit (beard, jeans, baseball cap, sunglasses) with Tony (in generally the same outfit), trying to appear casual as they walked around one of those giant outdoor outlet malls waiting for Natasha to make contact.

"She said she'd drop a pin with where she is in--" Steve glanced at his watch, "--eight and a half minutes. You've got the test with you?"

He'd asked that about four times already, but he was anxious.

Steve leaned in for another soft, lingering kiss. "I like you you-shaped."

"I do as well, trust me there." Even if the past year had been a bit... dodgy with it.

It really had been. Steve wrapped both arms around Tony and held on tightly. "Love you."

Tony hummed and soaked up that affection. "Love you too."

Tony deserved all the affection, especially since Steve figured this Skrull thing was bringing up memories Tony would rather not relive.

He pressed a soft kiss to Tony's hair.

"We're good, right?" Tony asked, kind of sleepily. Look, he wasn't in his twenties anymore or anything close to it.

"We're both who we say we are," Steve murmured. "We're good."

"Good." He was still going to do just a little clinging.

Steve was more than happy to cling back. "This is a good, sturdy couch," he teased softly.

"You're one who picked it out," he teased back.

Because he hadn't seen the price. "I did!" Steve said, pleased with himself. "Go me."

"You did good," Tony agreed, kissing him on the cheek.

Steve beamed. "Thank you, sweetheart."

Tony kissed him again, only pausing once his stomach rumbled, reminding him of the pizza they'd abandoned for this.

Steve laughed. "We did get interrupted."

"We did," Tony said with a laugh. "Think it's cold?"

"Probably," Steve said. "We took our time."

"It's still pizza." Tony said that now. When the offered pizza was not yet Papa Johns.

"It's still pizza," Steve agreed. "Am I getting up to get it?"

Tony made a face before forcing himself up with a stretch. "We'll both go. I think we need pants for this."

Steve made a sound suspiciously close to a whine. "I don't want to wear pants."

Tony laughed as he snagged Steve's abandoned pants for himself. "Well, I'm chilly."

"I was keeping you warm," Steve said.

"Better keep that up then," Tony replied, letting go of the pants like he was challenging Steve here.

Steve laughed. "Naked cooking will probably end badly."
