Steve Rogers

Well, there was good news and bad news. The good news was that Steve's version of Tony Stark was alive.

The bad news was basically everything else: Air Force One had been compromised, the President had been kidnapped, Rhodey wasn't answering his phone...

Steve paced back and forth in front of his laptop (less easy to crack the screen this time if Tony did something stupid, hopefully) and muttered under his breath. What a great first Christmas to be awake!

The third time that Steve sat through the Mandarin's history lesson to the world didn't make it any easier.

He ran his hands through his hair and sighed. "How high are the casualties at the air base?"

"High," Fury said succinctly. "Teams have already been dispatched. We, however, have a slightly larger problem. Colonel Rhodes?"

Rhodey stepped forward, looking serious. "This isn't the first attack," he said, flipping files around the table to the team. "Just the first one the public knows about. We don't know where the Mandarin's spider hole is, but we need to find it and fast. He's going to keep ramping up."

Steve nodded. Pushy Fandom mistletoe was suddenly much less important. "When did the other attacks occur?" he asked.

"Started two weeks ago," Fury replied. "You were out of communication, Cap."

Steve's cheeks went pink. "There was a slight...zombie apocalypse...to deal with," he muttered. "It's covered, now."

Rhodey blinked in confusion. "Right," he said slowly. "Anyway, go through the files and get back to us as soon as possible. Maybe SHIELD will see something the Pentagon overlooked."
