The Amazingly Awesome and Completely Necessary Ballroom, Stark Tower...let, Friday evening

It was mid-September, so that meant it was wholesome activities time, at least according to the targeted ads Steve was seeing, and so he decided that the best idea for the afternoon was to take Tony apple picking in Maryland.

A slightly competitive few hours later and he was bringing a truly ridiculous number of bushels of apples into the ballroom. "Do you need help with yours?" Steve asked, grinning over his shoulder at Tony.

"Why is it just my secret shame?" Steve asked, coming back in with the rest of the apples. "This is definitely an us problem."

"By making it my problem?" Steve teased.

"When it comes to the wrath of New Yorkers? Yes." Because he knew them, Steve!

Okay, so they sometimes liked to form mobs and yell, but it was a valid lifestyle choice!

"I'll protect you from the mean, mean Brooklynites," Steve promised.

"Why, thank you. How chivalrous," he teased.

"Until they find out you're from Manhattan," Steve teased back.

[imafuturist]

"Shhhh, we'll keep it a secret," Tony replied.

Because clearly he could pass as being from anywhere other than Manhattan.

Or that it wasn't the first fact New Yorkers knew about him.

"That should be easy," Steve said with a grin.

"Oh, for sure," Tony said in a terrible attempt at a Bronx accent.

Steve burst out laughing. "Never do that again."

"I thought it was good!" Oh, he would.

[heroic_jawline]

Steve leaned in to kiss him. "Do you even know someone from the Bronx?"

"Well, no," Tony murmured.

[heroic_jawline]

"I could tell," Steve said, smiling.

[imafuturist]

"I could manage a Boston accent instead if you want," Tony suggested. Having gone to school there and all.

"Please go on," Steve said with another smile.

"It's no Ben Affleck," Tony said, managing a surprisingly passable accent.

"Which one is that again?" Steve asked.

[imafuturist]

"He's played Ratman?" Oh yeah, his pivotal role.

"Which one?" Steve asked. "There were a lot of them."

[imafuturist]

"The newest--" Wait, no. There was already another. Damn, DC. Get it together. "The second newest one."

"Not the one who sounded like he made creepy phones calls in his spare time?"
