Apartment Above Stark Industries, Christmas Eve Day

Steve was packing up his sweaters and a few additional gifts he'd picked up at the suddenly convenient Christmas market (after having partaken in sausages, mulled wine, and every variety of crepe he could try) and called out into the rest of the apartment: "Tony--you ready yet?"

"A little, yeah," Steve said.

"Good," Tony replied smugly.

"But you're fine, huh?" Steve teased.

"I don't plan on walking again until tomorrow night, so... yes."

Steve's cheeks went pink. "Hot pot in bed, then."

"You get to deal with the hotel staff," he teased, absolutely delighted by the blush.

Steve's stomach gurgled right on time. "I guess I'll need pants."

Tony snickered, flopping back on the bed. "I'll find a robe," he promised. "Though you'll have to stop your very good impression of a blanket."

"I like being a blanket," Steve said, shoving his face into Tony's neck again.

"You're an amazing blanket," Tony replied, scratching slow circles over Steve's scalp.

Steve all but purred at that attention. "Feels nice."

"Well, you've earned it."

Steve smiled up at him. "That was fun."

"Good," Tony replied, smiling into Steve's hair. "You deserve fun."

"So do you," Steve said quickly.

Tony beamed and kissed him again. "You're amazing."

And Tony was firmly in the afterglow.

"Really?" Steve said, looking excited.

"As much as you'd like," he promised, going soft and fond at that enthusiasm.

"I love getting you to smile like that," Steve murmured.

Tony tugged gently on Steve's hair. "And I love when you're enthusiastic about new things."

Steve groaned softly. "Why does that feel so good?" he asked.

"Because it does," Tony suggested. "Doesn't need to be a reason so long as I can get you to make that noise."
