Apartment Above Stark Industries, Christmas Eve Day

Steve was packing up his sweaters and a few additional gifts he'd picked up at the suddenly convenient Christmas market (after having partaken in sausages, mulled wine, and every variety of crepe he could try) and called out into the rest of the apartment: "Tony--you ready yet?"

"Yes," Steve declared, grinning up at him.

"Put some pants on," Tony ordered with a messy, ridiculous kiss on his forehead. "Can't have you scandalizing people here."

Steve kept smiling. "I think I have some Iron Man sweatpants, too."

Tony's grin turned a little more hungry at that. "Tease."

"Got to keep you interested, too," Steve said, reaching into his bag for the pants.

"Never lose interest in you," he replied, sprawling out to watch Steve for a moment before finding his own pants.

That had been stolen from Steve.

"Aren't those my pants?" Steve asked, heading for the door as someone knocked.

"Are they?" They definitely were. But Tony was the guy who, underneath it all, only wanted to wear comfy clothes.

Steve laughed as he settled back onto the bed, carefully balancing the tray of food and booze. "You make them look good."

"I make everything look good," he teased, snagging a bottle of sake.

"And nothing at all," Steve said, kissing him.

"Ooo, very smooth," Tony replied, settling onto the bed with him as he popped the top off the sake to taste. "So, we cook the stuff in the hot broth. Hot pot. Get it?"

"Like fondue," Steve said, smiling a bit to himself.

Tony perked up, offering Steve the bottle once everything was safely settled in. "Like fondue. I asked for extra meat to keep you satisfied."

Steve snorted. "I've told you what I thought fondue meant, right?"

"Noooo," Tony said, sitting up to lean into Steve's space eagerly.

"In my defense, I was young and kinda dumb," Steve began, "but I thought it was a sex thing. Peggy very quickly set me straight on that."

"A sex thing?" Sorry if Tony burst into delighted laughter, Steve.

Steve turned bright red. "Howard asked her for a 'late night fondue!'" he said. "It sounded like a sex thing!"

"With Howard, I'm sure the implication was on purpose," he teased, trying to kiss away that blush.

Steve laughed softly, kissing him back. "Took me a while to realize that, too."

"Sorry my dad was such a jerk to you," Tony said with another kiss.

"I'm sorry it was a trend of him becoming a jerk in general," Steve murmured back.

"You didn't cause it." Mostly.

Steve kissed him again. "Doesn't make me less sorry," he said, reaching for a pair of chopsticks before his stomach made a deeply unsexy gurgling, growling noise.
