Stark Industries, Saturday afternoon

Steve came into the shop and let his shield drop to the ground with a muted clang. He wiped at the dust on his face, then squared his shoulders with visible effort and called out, "Tony? You around?"

Another lead, another fruitless Bucky search, this time in stupidly muggy Singapore. Steve needed a shower, a pizza or three, and a nap.

And a hug, but he was kind of hoping he wouldn't need to ask for one of those.

"I'm back!" he added a little needlessly.

"I also promised you ice cream and cartoons," Tony said, not quite pulling away yet. But not for the same reasons as before, now it was just about being close to Steve.

It was probably disgustingly sentimental.

"You did," Steve said with a smile. "Finish up here and we can crash on the couch together?"

And snuggle like giant saps.

Because nothing called for romantic cuddle time quite like talking about kinks.

"I really ought to get a bigger couch," Tony said with one last quick kiss and an answering smile.

"Well, Christmas is coming," Steve said. "Put it on your list."

"Is that what you want for Christmas?" He teased, picking up his curry again.

Steve grabbed a new dish--something that smelled spicy, with rice--and grinned. "I haven't really thought about it. I could use some socks, I guess, too."

"Anything you want," Tony promised with a fond look. "Socks and a couch. J, start a list."

"How about a couch that feels like socks?" Steve teased. "And what do you want for Christmas?"

"I would be happy with just you." Wrapped in a bow. Probably just a bow, hiding by Tony's expression.

Steve kissed him again. "You're picturing me naked, aren't you?" he said, laughing.

"No." Yes. "There was a bow."

[heroic_jawline]

"Of course there was," Steve said, sounding impossibly fond. "I think I watched that video, too. There was a fireplace?"

"Maybe a bear skin rug," Tony replied. "But seriously, you don't have to get me anything. Just... you."

Because Tony was awful to shop for unless you realize that anything personal would cause him to melt into a pile of happiness.

"I'll come up with something," Steve said, smiling.

So much art, Tony. So much.

That he would proudly put up everywhere in the apartment.

"Personally, I'm more looking forward the New Years."

"Just to get 2017 over with?" Steve guessed.

"And for a kiss to start off 2018 with," Tony replied, leaning in to show him what he meant.

"Mmm," Steve said, kissing him back. "Haven't had many of those."

[imafuturist]

"You taste like lemongrass," Tony said, reaching up to brush his thumb over the corner of Steve's mouth. "I hope we get quite a few years starting with a kiss," he added in a much quieter voice.

Steve's entire face lit up at that, and he reached out to curve his hand around Tony's face. "I hope so, too."

They were just the sappiest.

"Good tradition?" Tony asked with a damn near shy smile.

[heroic_jawline]

God, that smile just about killed Steve. "The best," he said, kissing him again.

"Looking forward to it," Tony side, smiling wider into that kiss like he couldn't help himself.

"God, I love you," Steve murmured.

[imafuturist]

"You really will give me a big head if you keep that up," Tony said, not at all sounding like he minded as he brushed his fingers through Steve's hair.
