Stark Tower But Shrunken, Saturday morning

The party had been a success, and Steve and Tony had fallen into bed and slept hard for the next nine hours.

Tony was still asleep, but Steve had woken up hungry and had headed into the kitchen on the search for leftovers. He was now surrounded by eggs, chopped up onions, leftover roasted boar, and slight wafting of smoke because the omelet pan had gotten entirely too hot. The smoke alarm hadn't gone off, but he was pretty sure JARVIS was going to tattle on him soon. He hoped he would be able to counter Tony's sleepy grumpiness by feeding him leftover cake--and strong, boozy coffee--for breakfast while he cleaned up.

"Are monks supposed to be sexy?" Steve wondered.

"If they look like you, yes," Tony replied with a nod that clearly decided it.

Steve's cheeks went pink. "Thanks, but I think a life as a monk will have to pass me by."

"Thankfully. I'd be a terrible monk, so I wouldn't be able to join you," Tony said, leaning in for another kiss.

"You would be an absolutely terrible monk," Steve agreed with a laugh.

"But I'd look good at it, right?" Tony asked, batting his eyes oh so sweetly.

"You look good in everything," Steve said. "Well, maybe not the perm."

Blame Rhodey for him seeing those photos.

"I'm sorry I wasn't a cute little kid like you, sweetheart," he teased, giving Steve a little pinch on the ass as he grabbed some of the leftover pork.

Steve startled, then laughed. "You were too. All big eyes and ridiculous lashes."

"I try my best," Tony said before frowning a little and blinking a few times to sift through messages from JARVIS to his brain. "Oh. Hm."

"What hm?" Steve asked. "I'm not dressed to fight off an invasion."

"Well, J is using the defenses to, ah, fight off errant fruitcakes?" Tony said. "So, it might not be necessary."

"Errant fruitcakes," Steve repeated slowly. "Sure."

"It is December here," Tony pointed out.

"I was hoping we'd stick to adorable ponies in sweaters," Steve said.

"The place really does enjoy coming up with new things to mess with us," Tony said with a sigh. "I'll add it to the list."

"Are they fruitcake sized fruitcakes or car sized fruitcakes?" Steve asked.

A valid question.

"Fruitcake sized, I think? JARVIS would be a little more alert if they were bigger, I hope."

"Or he thinks we could handle them," Steve said optimistically.

"But it's J, he's... levelheaded." You know. For an AI.

Steve looked vaguely disappointed not to be able to punch car-sized fruitcakes. "That's true."

"Do you want to suit up just in case?" Tony offered.

Full on Captain America vs some fruitcakes.

"Kind of," Steve admitted. "You?"

"...yeah," he admitted. "If anyone asks, it's a training exercise."

Oooo, way to think ahead, Tony.

"Oh, of course," Steve said. "Send them up to the ballroom? That way we have to work around the trees and make it challenging."
