Tony's Lab, Avengers Mini Tower of Dubious Sanity, Tuesday night

Tony had disappeared into the lab muttering about Tesla's Cybertruck after their class and Steve hadn't seen him since. Knowing how Tony got when he was in the middle of spite creating a new project, Steve had gone to see Wanda, then had headed to Tony's version of New York (with blessedly better weather) to retrieve dinner from the Szechuan hole in the wall near the Tower that Tony loved.

Maybe the smell of mapo tofu, dan dan noodles, and scallion pancakes would pull him from his engineering reverie. "Tony?" he called, coming into the space.

What about five new vehicles? Would five in one day, all infinitely better than a Tesla, work?

"Useless hack," Tony muttered under his breath, shoving a hologram to the side to pull up another one.

"...did you call him?" Steve checked quickly.

"JARVIS won't let me," Tony grumbled, noticing Steve for the first time since he started this.

"Thank you, JARVIS," Steve said quietly, knowing it would be heard anyway. "I brought dinner," he said in a more normal voice. "It's past 8 now."

But still the same day as class, so...progress!

"AM or PM?"

Yeeeeah. You married this, Steve.

"PM," Steve said with a smile. "What have you made?"

"More cars than that man has even glanced over the plans of," Tony muttered, flicking through the holography to let Steve see.

Steve smiled fondly at Tony before looking at the plans. "These are gorgeous. Are you going to put any into production?"

"Maybe. We don't actually manufacture cars, so it'd be a bit of a expansion..."

Pepper already had a headache.

Poor Pepper.

"Maybe the military would want them?" Steve offered, putting the food down and opening the bag so the smell would waft over towards Tony.

"It would get them off my back about contracts," Tony admitted slowly.

"And it's not a weapon," Steve said, smiling.

[imafuturist]

"And its not a weapon," he agreed brightly.

[heroic_jawline]

"That ugly truck was a weapon," Steve muttered.

"A weapon against our eyes," Tony replied before his stomach rumbled as the smell of the Chinese food hit him.

Steve grinned. "I went to the place you like."

"You can stay in the lab," Tony said with a nod.

[heroic_jawline]

"You say the nicest things," Steve teased.

"You actually went all the way to Manhattan for this?" Because it was pretty damn sweet.

[heroic_jawline]

"Sure," Steve said with a shy smile. "You looked like you might need it."

Tony tugged him into a kiss for that. "I'll name the new cars after you."

Oh no. That wasn't what Steve asked for.

"Oh, you really don't need to do that," Steve protested.

"It'll be nice and patriotic for the military," he added.

[heroic_jawline]

Steve snorted. "Yeah, they really love me."

Tony kissed him again for it. "Help me make room for the food."
