The visit to Peggy had been--

Well. Awful.

And while the people at the facility would never dream of telling Steve not to keep coming, he was getting the impression that they wished they could. He'd gone for a long walk afterwards, seeing the entire Mall and spending far too much time in front of the World War II Memorial even though it was freezing outside before picking up cupcakes in Georgetown so Tony wouldn't worry about why Steve was running a little late today.

He opened the door to the apartment, holding the box of treats out of the reach of a joyful corgi who was convinced each time Steve left that he would Never Be Seen Again, and called out, "Tony? Where are you?"

"It's an experience," Tony agreed.

"Definitely memorable," Steve said, laughing. "We need popcorn."

Because he was still hungry.

Tony laughed and gave him a little shove. "Stay here, I'll get some made."

"You're my favorite," Steve said. "I'll make sure I'm paying close attention so I can fill you in on the plot you miss."

"Please do!" Tony called over his shoulder.

Steve was going to take notes, Tony. He was very serious about making sure he didn't miss a part of this deeply ridiculous movie.

It was clearly why he married Steve!

Tony came back with a much too large bowl of popcorn so that he could get some before Steve ate it all. "What did I miss?"

Steve gave him a far too comprehensive breakdown of the five minutes he'd missed, including number of clearly fake lasers being shot at things that were definitely not to scale.
