Tony's New York, Sunday afternoon

Tony and Steve had gone to Manhattan after their class on Thursday and gotten bagels to bring back to Fandom, but somehow (Steve) they had all been eaten (Steve) in the past four days (Steve, and also Fee).

So now they were back in the city for a new, bigger batch to take home with them, and to appreciate the start of autumn in the city with a walk through Central Park, which was just enough nature for two born-and-bred city boys.

"This is nice," Steve said around a mouthful of food.

Hey, it was possibly they could manage to camp! For an entire night even! Maybe!

Definitely not.

"You're on a carb high, you'd say that if we were in New Jersey," Tony was forced to tease.

"I would not say that in New Jersey," Steve said. "I wouldn't buy bagels in New Jersey. I'd get one of those pork roll sandwiches with the egg and cheese."

"...that's fair. Those are their only saving grace." So rude, you two.

"The salt water taffy at the shore is good, too," Steve said.

"But we're not going to the shore willingly."

[heroic_jawline]

"Not in October, we're not," Steve agreed.

Tony nodded firmly at that.

"Think we should go see the leaves falling upstate?" That was a married couple thing, right?

[heroic_jawline]

"We could," Steve said. "Do you like hiking?"

And if so, how had he missed knowing that this long?

"Well... if you do." He'd suffer through it. "We could also just make it a drive."

[heroic_jawline]

"It would be fun on the bike," Steve said with much more enthusiasm than he'd had for the hiking idea.

"That's an idea." Oh, someone hadn't biked in... possibly ever.

[heroic_jawline]

Steve chuckled and nudged Tony's shoulder. "The motorcycle. Very fast. No exercise involved."

"Motorcycle," Tony agreed immediately. "That I can get behind."

By clinging to Steve like a koala on it.

Steve laughed. "Well, I wasn't going to let you drive," he teased.

"Is it because I speed too much?" Oh, like Steve didn't.

[heroic_jawline]

"Because it's my motorcycle," Steve said, grinning. "And you speed too much."

Tony flicked him on the arm for that. "I drive a speed that the vehicles deserve. It's like letting a horse go at the speed they want."

[heroic_jawline]

"Well, maybe if there's no one else out there," Steve said, though he had a heck of a lead foot himself.

"I'll take you up on that." So, so many tickets would be written. Now, did Steve actually have a driver's license?

Kind of?

"It's a date," Steve said. "Do you want to go tomorrow?"

"Yes, please," Tony said brightly. "We could get things together to picnic too."

Mmmm. Smushed food.

[heroic_jawline]

"Not bagels," Steve said. "I think I'm turning into a bagel."

[imafuturist]

"No bagels," he promised. "Maybe a thermos of coffee and deli sandwiches."

[heroic_jawline]

"Pastrami on rye?" Steve asked eagerly.

[imafuturist]

"Exactly," Tony replied. "And the deli pickles. And black and white cookies."

Just bringing the city with them, huh?
