Steve headed through the door, smiling at Tony. "Okay, engineering genius. How'd they get the bus into that room?" he asked, reaching up to loosen the tie on his uniform.

"Hey," Steve replied, kissing his back again. "You thirsty?"

Tony hummed and lifted his hand in a vague agreement with that. "Don't think I'm moving anytime soon."

Steve smirked slightly. "Good to hear," he said.

"You sound smug."

For some reason.

"I like to see you happy," Steve said.

"Very happy," Tony agreed with a sigh.

"Good," Steve said, warming the lotion between his hands before carefully rubbing it into Tony's sore backside.

Tiny winced before relaxing into the touch again. "You?"

"Very, very good," Steve murmured, kissing the small of Tony's back. "Too sore?" he checked.

"Won't be good for much, but---it's good," he murmured back, resting his cheek on his crossed forearms. "Good pain, right?"

"Good pain," Steve agreed, kissing Tony's cheek.

No, the other one.

Well, it made Tony chuckle at least. "One of these days maybe I'll get the super strength on weird weekends like this."

And then Steve could get man-handled to his heart's content.

"Mmmm," Steve murmured, smiling against Tony's skin. "That would be fun."

"Have I mentioned how much I adore you lately?" Tony sighed.

"In the last three minutes? No," Steve teased "Feel free."

"I adore you," he said with a laugh, glancing back at him.

Steve smiled, his entire face lighting up at that. "I know you do," he said.

"C'mere," Tony said, waving ineffectively in an attempt to lay on his side without wincing.

Steve moved back up, tucking himself in front of Tony. "Yes, dear?"

Which allowed Tony to kiss him as sweetly as he wanted to in that moment. Which was a lot.

Steve kissed him back, nice and slow. "I love you."

"I love you too," he murmured back.

Steve smiled softly. "I will never, ever get tired of hearing you say that."

"Good," Tony replied with am answering smile. "Because I'll never get tired of saying it."

Steve pulled the blankets up and over them, leaning in to kiss Tony between the eyes. "Need anything else?"

He was feeling a little jangly and overprotective still.
