Apartment Above Stark Industries, Sunday early evening

Steve had been called into work by Fury right after his and Tony's class on Friday to chase down a lead on a Hydra base alone: his Tony, Fury told him, had been sending everyone to voicemail for almost a month, Bruce was working on some kind of program in India, Thor was back on Asgard, and Natasha and Clint were on a different assignment.

Steve tried not to miss them all (especially Tony) too much. The lead turned out to be a heavily-armed fortress with lots of goons but no useful intel on either Bucky or the stash of SHIELD artifacts Hydra had stolen when SHIELD fell.

Imploded.

Was crushed under the weight of its own secrets.

Whatever it was, Steve didn't feel bad about it happening, though he did regret the loss of the weapons.

He was back home again, now: dirty, slightly banged up, and more than ready for a long, hot soak in his birthday bathtub. (Because Tony had given him a bathroom renovation for his birthday and he'd realized that was just Tony years ago.)

"JARVIS, I'm back," he said, pulling the cowl down from his face with a tired sigh. "Tell Tony I have all limbs present and accounted for."

"Okay," Steve said, watching him intently.

Which meant Tony had to grab the one with the remote control that went along with it. Because of course he did.

"Should I take those off for now?"

Steve thought about it and then shook his head. "I like 'em," he said softly. "It's keeping me grounded."

"Let me know if that changes," Tony murmured, leaning in to kiss him as he pressed slick fingers back into him to make sure he would be able to take this.

"Green," Steve sighed, even if his ridiculous healing factor had already tightened some of those muscles back up again.

"You're doing so good," he said, carefully working him open again with his fingers. He took his time now, purposely trying to draw out all the reactions he could.

Steve whimpered and arched up off the bed, chasing more of that feeling.

Tony pushed him down with his other hand, leaning in to kiss him as a slight distraction as he pressed the plug into him carefully.

Steve squeezed his eyes closed. "Good pain," he panted.

"Good," Tony murmured, watching his face for a moment to confirm that before pressing the control to turn the plug on to vibrate in him.

Steve let out a deeply embarrassing little yowl and arched off the bed, giving the cuffs their first real workout.

"Shh," Tony soothed, not turning it off at all even as he placed a hand to the center of Steve's chest to keep him in place.

Steve settled, panting. "This is fine."

"Too much?" he asked innocently.

[heroic_jawline]

"Not even close," Steve told him, smirking slightly.

"We'll get you there," he promised, kindly turning it up to the next level.

Steve hissed a breath out. "Not for a while," he said stubbornly.

Tony settled in next to him, trailing a hand through the mess on Steve's stomach. "Oh? What else will it take?"

Now he was just daring Steve.

"Not sure yet," Steve said. "Keep going."

"Yes, dear," he agreed sweetly, leaning in for a kiss as he bumped up the control another level.

Steve moaned as the sensations overwhelmed him in the best way. "There," he murmured, nipping Tony's lower lip. "Here's really good."

But still enough for him to form coherent sentences, so.

That wouldn't do at all, no.

"There?" he asked, scratching his nails down Steve's chest.

Steve whined. "Yeah," he said, already hard and aching again.

"Oh, now I want to see you make a mess of yourself again," he murmured, hand drifting low on Steve's stomach, but stopping just shy of touching him where he wanted it.

"Gonna need a little help," Steve admitted.
