Well, it was St. Patrick's Day, so Steve was just grateful his weird pajamas that the island wouldn't let him get out of didn't have shamrocks on them. He was humming a tune his mother using to sing as he took the corned beef out of the water it had been cooking in for the last few hours.

When it came to boiling the crap out of things, Steve had that part of cooking down.

Didn't mean it tasted amazing, though. Mushy carrots were no one's favorites. "Dinner, Tony!"

"Plus soda bread!"

That he didn't even burn!

"You're a regular Betty Crocker," he teased, sniffing the air. Mmm. Boiled meat.

And it'll linger in the house for days, you lucky man!

"Next time I'll have an apron," Steve said.

"JARVIS, order Steve a 'kiss the cook' apron, please."

Steve blinked. "Do I really need that?"

You did, Steve.

"You don't want kisses when you cook?" It could have been a 'Kiss me, I'm Irish' apron.

"Not while I'm holding a knife?" Steve replied, laughing.

"Cruel man," he teased, looking to see if he needed to help bring anything to the table. Or 'accidentally' drop it.

Steve gave him a smile. "Want to see if the beer in the fridge isn't hot cocoa yet?"

"Might be some dark beer that sort of tastes like it," Tony suggested, going to grab them both a Guinness.

Steve wrinkled up his nose. "That just seems wrong."

"Better than that lime monstrosity," Tony said, getting the tops off the beers.

"That is an excellent point," Steve said, jabbing the corned beef with a giant fork and sliding it onto...well, one of their normal plates.

The guys didn't exactly have fancy platters around.

Well. Tony did, but not here. Because Steve might die if he knew how much a platter cost for Tony Stark.

"So, count us lucky there."

If it was more than ten dollars, Steve would probably have a fit.

"Ran into Liam at the coffee shop," Steve said. "His drink was veeeeeeeery green."

"Should I be concerned for you?" If you puked green later on, Steve. So help him...

"I'll be fine," Steve assured him, setting down enough mashed potatoes to feed half of Ireland.

"Uh huh." Well. They had enough food for half a week for Steve.

"I've got a sturdy stomach," Steve said, sitting down and grinning at Tony.

Tony rolled his eyes, offering over one of the beers. "Sit. We can break out the whiskey after."

"Irish coffees?" Steve suggested.

"I love you." Mostly because coffee.

[heroic_jawline]

"You love the coffee," Steve teased, giving Tony far too large a serving of food.

And Tony was just going to do his level best with that.

"Be that as it may, the laws say I can't marry coffee yet."
