Apartment Above Stark Industries, Wednesday Night

After another futile Bucky search, Steve slumped back into the apartment, told JARVIS to order the standard Chinese takeout (that is: the whole menu, plus extra crab rangoon) and started the hottest shower he could stand.

When he felt like he'd washed the awful of the day off, he pulled on a t-shirt and a pair of Stark-branded sweatpants and headed for the living room with a heavy sigh. "JARVIS, is Tony still down in the lab?"

Steve sighed softly. "Well, if it felt like a long time, then okay."

"I love how you react," he murmured almost too low and muffled against Steve's skin to be picked up.

Steve carded his fingers through Tony's hair. "I love you too."

Tony tilted his head to enjoy that, brushing his cheek against Steve's chest. "And I love how well you can read me."

"You are the most amazing person I know," Steve whispered. "I pay attention to what you like."

So Tony would keep him around, of course.

Their issues were just magical when smushed together, weren't they?

"What I like," Tony began, biting him again lower down on his shoulder. He coupled that with slipping a hand into the waistband of Steve's pants to take him in hand. "Is to see you happy and enjoying yourself."

Steve shuddered. "Oh God. I am."

"Then I am very happy," he replied, moving his hand slowly. Because he clearly needed to drag this out as much as Steve would allow him.

Steve moaned and dropped his head against Tony's shoulder. "Tease."

That wasn't a stop at all.

"You like it," Tony replied, all confident and amused as he ran his free hand through Steve's hair almost in time with the rhythm of the other.

"I really do," Steve said, sucking a bruise onto Tony's throat. "Pushin' limits--"

Tony tightened his fingers through Steve's hair and groaned at that. His hips moved forward before he could get himself back under control again.

Steve let out a low chuckle. "I can tease, too," he murmured. "See if I get you to break first."

"Your teasing is cruel," Tony murmured, slowing his hand down a little more, taking his time with it. "Mine is character building."

Sure. That was what it was.

Steve whimpered, then bit down sharply on the bruise he'd made. "Character building, huh?"

"Uh huh," he replied breathlessly. Tony curled his arm around Steve's neck to keep them close, rolling his hips again in time with his hand. "'m helping you."

"So very helpful," Steve gasped, rocking up into Tony's hand.

"See?" Tony laughed softly, tightening his thighs around Steve's hips to go along for the ride.

"God, you feel so good," Steve babbled, nuzzling Tony's neck.

Tony exhaled roughly, speeding up his hand to drag more lovely sound and reactions out of Steve. "Mark me, c'mon. I don't have anything left from before when you went away."

And they were very important for Tony to be able to see and feel while apart.

"You're still mine," Steve said fiercely, sucking another bruise just below the hollow of Tony's throat.

Which earned him the immediate response of legs tightening around him and a high, needy little moan. "Yours," Tony agreed. "God, I love your possessiveness."

Steve gave him an extremely thorough, claiming kiss in reply, sliding his hands down to press Tony more firmly against him. "Mine," he repeated.

"Prove it," Tony couldn't help by challenge, grinning sharply at him.

Steve grinned back. "Daring me, Stark?"
