At Tony's suggestion, Steve had been educating himself on sex in the 21st Century with the safe search off on Google.

Steve had Seen Some Things. He'd also taken a lot of notes, bookmarked some of the more legitimate sources of information, and was now ready for possibly the most awkward conversation EVER, which was why he was grateful for the flood of holiday cards that had made their way into the apartment. He was currently amusing himself by trying to figure out which version of Natasha had sent the two cards.

And who was Tony to pull away when he was being so sweet like that. "Let's get you cleaned off."

Steve smiled a little sheepishly. "Think I got you, too."

"I'll just have to join you in the shower," he replied with faux sadness.

Oh nooooo.

Steve chuckled. "What a terrible hardship for you."

"I love you so much that I'm willing to do this for you," he replied.

"You're such a giver," Steve said, laughing.

Tony kissed him on the nose and gave a little shove. "Before my legs fall asleep and you have to carry me there bridal style."

Which would really only be embarrassing for one of them.

"Is it better if I do it fireman style?" Steve asked, moving out of Tony's lap...and yeah, okay, that felt very weird.

Tony knew that and still had to put a hand on Steve's hip to check in with him.

"It would give me a good view of your ass."

Steve chuckled, moving a little carefully as he stood up. "You make such sacrifices."

"All for you,"Tony agreed, rubbing his hip soothing. "You alright?"

Steve kissed him swiftly. "I'll be fine."

Tony watched him for a moment to decide whether or not this was Steve being stubborn, then cupped his face for another kiss.

It was probably about 30 percent stubbornness?

"Shower," Steve murmured.

That was still 30 percent more than he liked!

"Shower," Tony agreed, taking Steve's hand to pull him along.

Steve smiled and ignored a slight twinge...places...as he followed along.

Tony tolerated the silence for about as long as it took to get them to the bathroom and the water going at the heat Steve preferred.

"Tell me what's going on in your head right now."

Steve gave him a soft smile. "Not much," he admitted. "There's a little voice that sounds a lot like it's saying 'wheeeeee', but I'm trying to ignore it because that's not dignified."

Tony had to chuckle at that, pulling him into the shower. "That's alright. I won't share."

Steve smiled. "Appreciate it," he said, wrapping his arms loosely around Tony's waist. "I'm fine," he repeated. "It was just new."

"Just checking in," Tony replied, gently kissing a line down Steve's neck. "I want to be on the same page as you."

"That's for checking," he said, closing his eyes.

Tony shuffled closer, running his fingers through Steve's wet hair to smooth it back and still looking concerned. Because it was his thing. His mother hen thing.

"I can feel you worrying with my eyes closed," Steve teased gently.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Tony replied, reaching for a truly ridiculous loofa to wash with.
